The Law of Attraction
You probably think: “Here we go again… Another one who knows all about The Law of Attraction and how it works…”. You’re right; I know you’ve probably read many of these before.
But I also know from experience, that if you haven’t got it from all the others, you just might get it from mine. Truth has many aspects; sometimes you need to see something from another perspective to really understand it. So here goes – the short explanation of The Law of Attraction:
DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY!
Alright, alright, I know – too simplistic for you. So let me give you the slightly longer version.
I promise it won’t be complicated; you don’t have to take lessons or learn special techniques, or sit in meditation for days on end. Just read this, and try to be open minded. Follow my advice, and I can promise you at least some improvement from where you now are.
First of all you have to at least be willing to accept that everything you see, hear, feel, taste, smell and touch, is vibration. Light has a vibration frequency, which your eyes transfer to your brain to translate it into image. Same with sound and your ears.
It gets a bit more difficult to understand maybe with solid objects which you can touch, so I’ll explain the nature of all substances.
The smallest particles known in science –neutrons – have been observed and found to behave very weird, to say the least. They appear to be solid and energy at the same time! Furthermore, they behave accordingly to the expectations of the scientist observing them…

So, we’ve determined that everything is energy based. Furthermore, everything exists in infinite possibilities, until you decide what you expect it to be! This means, that you decide what you want to experience. Ask and it is given, so to speak. Law of Attraction in action.
If you are anything like me, you started out asking with words, affirmations, trying to be positive (desperately), and……nothing!
How can that be? You ask and ask, and the more you don’t get what you want, the more discouraged you become.
Well, the problem isn’t with the asking; you are asking constantly whether you know it or not by your attention to anything.
And it isn’t that what you ask for isn’t given to you; it always is. That is a Universal Law - The Law of Attraction
The problem lies in the receiving of what you have asked for. Let me explain that.
Although you might think that asking is done with words, prayers, affirmations and such, that is not the case. You ask through your vibration. (We are energy based, remember?)
For instance, when you look at something you like very much, and it makes you happy, you say vibrationally: “Yes, give me more of this”. You vibrate on the level of feeling good. But when you give your attention to something you don’t like, you say vibrationally: “Yes, give me more of this”. There is no such thing as no; you ask by getting in the vibration of what you give your attention to.
Focusing on a subject is spending energy, which creates a vacuum. And that vacuum has to be filled. Law of Attraction says, that like attracts onto itself, so that vacuum will be filled with energy of the same kind. What does this mean?
Simple. Spend negative energy by focusing on something you don’t want, and you get more negative energy by Law of Attraction. On the other hand, if you focus on things you love, you spend positive energy and it must be replaced with more of the same.
Now, how do I know what I’m asking vibrationally for, what energy I’m spending, you ask? That is very easy to determine. You have an excellent built-in guidance system, that tells you where you are vibrationally. It is called “emotions”. And you know by how you feel what Law of Attraction will bring to you!
Think of this: how do you feel when you look at something you don’t want? Not so great… And how do you feel when you think of something you love? Much better!
It is your emotions that tell you where you are vibrationally, and what kind of experiences you attract in your future. So it stands to reason that you have to make sure you vibrate in a more positive way by looking at, thinking of, speaking of, listening to or doing things that you like.
It’s kind of like a radio; when it is tuned to one station it cannot receive another. And you can determine if it is tuned right, by the sound. When you hear static, you didn’t tune right.
Same with your focus: tune yourself to positive energy by focus, and you’ll feel better immediately. Look at something hateful, thus tuning yourself negatively, and you’ll feel negative emotions. Again: Law of Attraction in action.
We are observing creatures, and we have a habit of looking at anything that catches our eye. Hence all the News broadcastings. We think we want to know about everything that happens. Even (or especially) the gory details.
But what kind of emotions do you feel when you watch those things? Nothing positive, I’m sure… That’s because you are focusing negatively and thus attracting negatively. And your emotions tell you that clearly if you want to pay attention.
I personally have stopped watching TV altogether, except when I want to watch a comedy or something else I like. That way I’m not confronted all the time with negativity, which has nothing to do with me directly, and which I can do nothing about anyway. And if there is something I need to know, I’m sure I’ll be told about it.
I can tell you it makes a world of difference in how I feel lately! Plus it saves me lots of time for doing things that make me feel good!
Furthermore, we have a whole series of negative beliefs, for instance: “I’m not good enough” or “It’s someone else’s fault” or “I’m being punished by God” or “Wealth is not fairly distributed.”
A belief is simply a thought that you repeat for a long time so it becomes a habit. That doesn’t mean it has to stay forever – you can change it, simply by thinking other thoughts. And Law of Attraction doesn’t know the difference between what’s “real” or imagined. By Law of Attraction the Universe will yield to you the same energy that you spend by focusing, whether it is by looking at something or imagining it.
Remember: you Ask by focusing, and it is always given, by Law of Attraction.
So, think thoughts that feel good!
Catch yourself in the act of thinking negative thoughts, and turn them around immediately, or if you can’t, think of something entirely different that does feel better.
Now you can’t go from feeling horrible to deliriously happy at once; you have to take baby steps. Just reach for a thought that feels slightly better.
You have to train yourself, but you will notice results very soon if you are determined to do this, and pay attention to your feelings. They are a very accurate indicator of what you are attracting and thus creating in your future!
Just relax, and don’t stress about guarding your thoughts. Observe and notice what’s going on with your emotions. Stress and having to guard your thoughts both feel like hard work, which is not needed. Just start noticing the beauty around you, appreciate what you now have (which really is a lot), smile at anyone you meet….
I know everyone has issues that are hard to ignore, such as financial matters or relationships, or health issues.
But you can feel frightened when you think of these matters, or you can feel hopeful when you think of these matters. And the difference between feeling frightened and feeling hopeful will be the difference between being broke, unhappy and sick and being abundant, happy and healthy. Your choice.
That may seem harsh; you might say: "I didn’t do this to myself!" Now, I don't mean to offend you, but the simple truth is: unconsciously you did, by focusing on the wrong subjects. And it doesn’t matter anyway; your work now is to take a journey from where you are to where you want to be.
You have to stop looking at what is, and start imagining what you want it to be. Because Law of Attraction never ever makes a mistake: everything that you are living now is a consequence of what you have been focusing on and thus have been attracting into your life.
If you find it hard or even impossible not to feel negative about a subject, and you can’t find anything positive about it, you will benefit by learning to meditate.
Meditation simply is:
• finding a place where you can sit comfortably without any distractions,
• relax and close your eyes,
• and concentrate lightly on your breathing,
• or hum a tone that feels good to you and try to hold that tone.
If you do this for about 15 minutes every day, you will start to come in contact with your true state of being. You will feel blissful on a regular basis, and during the rest of the day you will notice more positive things to focus on. By Law of Attraction you attract more of what you give your attention to.
Your overall emotional state will improve, and the better it gets, the better it gets…..
I hope you now have a better understanding of how Law of Attraction works. You ask by your vibration, and you vibrate similarly to what you focus on. And since Law of Attraction never makes a mistake, you get what you ask for exactly.
So you attract in the way that you vibrate by your focus (Law of Attraction). And focusing is spending energy, which has to be replaced by energy of the same kind. Your job is to allow the wellbeing you ask for to flow to you, in other words, your job is to learn how to receive.
It is not that you are not good enough, or that you are not worthy, or that it is someone else’s fault that you don’t get what you want – it is your tuning so to speak to the vibration of what you observe, think, remember, or talk about.
And you know exactly what you are asking for by way of your Guidance System. You know how you feel, moment by moment. You just have to train yourself to notice how you feel, and catch yourself feeling negative emotions. In that moment you can turn it around.
So guide your thoughts, memories, focus and words away from what you don’t want and into the direction of that what you do want. Get into the feeling place of your dreamed future.
